IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 442.150 MHZ REPEATER

The 442.150 MHz multi-mode FM/Digital repeater’s internet problems have been resolved and it’s back online! As you know, this repeater repeats FM, DStar, Yaseu System Fusion, P25, NXDN and DMR, repeating whichever mode you transmit on (does not cross mode). However, as we discussed at the September business meeting, the DMR side of this repeater IS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE BRANDMASTER SYSTEM. Rather, it’s connected to the NEW TGIF NETWORK which presents an alternative to Brandmaster.

The main systemwide talkgroup on TGIF Network is Local 9/Talkgroup 9 on our repeater’s Time Slot 2. Unlike Brandmaster this is NOT a local repeater only channel. There is a systemwide net on this talkgroup on Fridays at 8:30 PM.

THE BRANDMASTER SYSTEM AND THE TGIF NETWORK DO NOT AND WILL NOT INTERCONNECT. The existence of the same numerical talkgroups is coincidental. For example, TG 310 on the Brandmaster system communicates with other Brandmaster TG310 users, but someone on TG 310 on TGIF Network would not be a party to the communication, and vice versa.

The 145.44 MHz repeater is still using Brandmaster for DMR interconnection as it has been since it was put it on the air.

Are their tacs or other talkgroups on the TGIF system? Yes. The way it is set up now you can go to any TG below 1000. So just pick one for now. The TGIF admins will soon have a matrix with tac channels and other TG’s. So just do a group call to the sub-1000 talkgroup you desire, and you can communicate through this system with other users on the same talkgroup without interfering with main channel TG 9. A person on a hotspot would do the same, by keying up the same group call on their hotspot.
