442.150 MHz REPEATER BACK ON TGIF NETWORK!

The technical problems which the TGIF Network had been experiencing have been resolved and they’re moving full speed ahead! So we are linking the 442.150 MHz multi-mode FM/Digital repeater back to TGIF Network for DMR system communications. As you know, this repeater repeats FM, DStar, Yaseu System Fusion, P25, NXDN and DMR, repeating whichever mode you transmit on (does not cross mode). However, as we discussed at previous meetings, the DMR side of this repeater IS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE BRANDMASTER SYSTEM. Rather, it’s connected to the NEW TGIF NETWORK which presents an alternative to Brandmaster.

The main systemwide talkgroup on TGIF Network is Talkgroup 9 on our repeater’s Time Slot 2, Color code 1. Unlike Brandmaster this is NOT a local repeater only channel. There is a TGIF Network systemwide net on this talkgroup on Fridays at 8:30 PM.

THE BRANDMASTER SYSTEM AND THE TGIF NETWORK DO NOT AND WILL NOT INTERCONNECT. The existence of the same numerical talkgroups is coincidental. For example, TG 310 on the Brandmaster system communicates with other Brandmaster TG310 users, but someone on TG 310 on TGIF Network would not be a party to the communication, and vice versa.

The 145.44 MHz repeater is still using Brandmaster for DMR interconnection as it has been since it was put it on the air.

Are their tacs or other talkgroups on the TGIF system? Yes. A growing list of talkgroups available can be found at tgif.network/talkgroups.php. The way it is set up now you can go to any listed talkgroup by making a group call to the talkgroup number. You will be disconnected from the previous talkgroup and the repeater will remain connected to your selected talkgroup until someone initiates a change to another DMR talkgroup. Note that the TGIF system only uses Slot 2 at this time. It is under consideration as to whether Slot 1 can be used for local repeater only DMR transmissions, and more information on this will be posted when available.
