FCC FEE INCREASE FOR ALL AMATEUR RADIO LICENSE MATTERS AND GMRS FEE DECREASE EFFECTIVE APRIL 19, 2022

The long dreaded FCC Fee increase for amateur radio license related processing (new, renewal, vanity, etc.) will take effect April 19, 2022. See this post on the ARRL website for details. The fee for a 10 year GMRS license should decrease to $35 on April 19, 2022 as well.

NOTE: According to an email to Volunteer Examiners, “Administrative updates, such as a change of name, mailing or email address, will be exempt from fees.” There will NOT be an FCC Application fee for upgrading a license class (Tech to General/General to Extra). The FCC fee will only apply to application for a new license, renewal, rule waiver, or a new vanity call sign.
