Roy Danser, KA3FGX SK

Roy C. Danser, 82, of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, peacefully in his home with his loving family. He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Greensburg, the son of Clifford R. and Mary E. (Blank) Danser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Prior to retirement from Latrobe Steel, he was an active fireman for Dryridge Fire Dept. Roy was a lifelong member of the Chestnut Ridge Amateur Radio Club. He was also a founding member of the Westmoreland Emergency Amateur Radio Service. He served as a trustee to the new organization, and a member of the board of directors. He was also a member of the transition board between the Chestnut Ridge Amateur Radio Club and the Foothills Amateur Radio Club, which formed the Westmoreland Emergency Amateur Radio Service. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; their son, Ronald and wife Betsy; and daughter, Barbara; with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers and one sister.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15 at JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME in Norvelt. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at St. Paul Luthern Church, Trauger.
